What do you love about LSA?
Even though I am new, I already love so many things about LSA. From the second I walked in the door, I was treated with kindness. The school itself gives a warm, cozy, family-like atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. The children are treated with love, kindness, and respect. I would recommend LSA as a school and as a place of employment! Thank you for welcoming me!

Hi, my name is Cynthia Whittmore. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. I moved to North Carolina in 2007. I got married to my best friend, Shawn, and we have four children ages 22, 13, 7, 3, and two pups. I have my bachelors degree in history and I'm a huge history buff! I LOVE to read, listen to music and animals. My favorite place in the world is the beach!
I have worked with children since the age 16, starting with babysitting for my neighbors and working all the way up to being an Assistant Director of an early childhood education center. I love working with all ages and I'm passionate about letting children explore and discover the wonder of the world around them. I am super excited to be here at Little Scholars Academy and can't wait to get to know all of the children and their families!

The ideal candidate will have an exceptionally warm, nurturing, and patient demeanor, will be fun and energetic, will be familiar with the Reggio Emilia approach to education (or excited to learn), will have the ability and desire to think creatively about ideas and materials, will have the ability to use technology to support curriculum and for communication, will have experience teaching in a classroom, and will have a passion for teaching young children ages 12 months to 5 years!
